Despite the many meters of altitude, the summit of the Zugspitze is accessible to everyone – even without years of mountaineering experience. The ultra-modern Zugspitze cable car, the traditional rack railway and last but not least, the glacier cable car takes you up to the viewing platform and the fantastic 4-country view. Including breathtaking views, the best mountain air and an unforgettable memory.
The trip to the Zugspitze starts on Eibsee or from the train station in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The Eibsee is also a popular destination in the Zugspitze region. From the train station, you can take the nostalgic cog railway up to the Zugspitzplatt. You can go down with the new Zugspitze cable car, which gives you a stunning view of the picturesque Eibsee and the Bavarian Alpine foothills through the glass cabins.
From the Ettal Monastery Hotel you are only a 20-minute drive from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The car park at Eibsee can be reached in about half an hour.
