By car
Coming from Munich, take the A95 motorway towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen until the end of the motorway, then continue on the B2 federal road towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In Oberau, turn right onto the B23 towards Peiting. Our 4**** Klosterhotel Ettal is located in the centre of Ettal, opposite the Ettal monastery on the left-hand side.
Coming from Innsbruck/Mittenwald, take the B2 federal highway towards Munich until you reach Oberau. In Oberau, turn left onto the B23 towards Peiting to Ettal. Our 4**** Klosterhotel Ettal is located in the center of the town opposite Ettal Monastery on the left-hand side.
Coming from Memmingen, take the A96 towards Munich until you reach the Landsberg am Lech West motorway exit. Then take the B17 towards Schongau. Continue onto the B472. Turn right onto the B23 exit towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen/Oberammergau. Continue on the B23 to Ettal. Our 4**** Klosterhotel Ettal is located in the town centre opposite the Ettal monastery on the right-hand side. Alternatively, you can also take the A7 towards Füssen. (see directions from Cologne/Stuttgart)
Coming from Cologne or Stuttgart, take the A3 (from Cologne towards Stuttgart) onto the A8 towards Munich. Then continue on the A7 towards Füssen. At the end of the motorway, take the Fernpassstraße/B179, L255 to Plansee in Tyrol, Austria. Then take Ammerwald and Linderhofer Str. to Ettal, Germany. Our 4**** Klosterhotel Ettal is located in the town centre opposite the Ettal Monastery on the right-hand side.
TRAIN, BUS & PLANE
With public transport
An easy and relaxing way to go on holiday is to take the train. The best way to do this is to take the train to Oberau. And from there take the bus. The Klostergasthof-Ettal bus stop is just a 1-minute walk from our 4**** monastery hotel.
If you are travelling from Austria, take the train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and then take the bus from there. The Klostergasthof-Ettal bus stop is just a 1-minute walk from our 4**** monastery hotel.
If you are arriving by plane, you can choose between Munich, Memmingen and Innsbruck airports. Munich and Memmingen airports are both about 1,5 hours away by car. Innsbruck airport is about 1 hour's drive from Ettal.
