Skiers will find the perfect piste in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen ski resort (15 km from Ettal), on the Zugspitze, in the neighbouring districts of Ehrwald and Leermoos, the button lifts in Oberammergau (with snow-making facilities) and the Laber.
